Steam and Signal

Steam and Signal is a 5 minutes three-movement electroacoustic piece blending modeling synthesis with field recordings from my kitchen—moka pot steam, rice textures, and subtle domestic gestures. Guided by an early-stage graphic score, the piece evolves from past unfinished works, reimagined and recontextualized. Repetition, re articulations, and timbral transformation explore the boundary between the everyday and the abstract, shaping an intimate yet surreal environment.

Electronic War

“Electronic War” is a 5-minute-long, point-source, 5 channel, electroacoustic composition composed with sounds from three different modular synthesis modules and a Shure sm57 microphone. The three modules are the make noise Strega, the beads granular synth and the Klavis Flexshaper. Most of the sounds are generated by a feedback loop. The Movement are cadenced by a rhythmic pattern followed by long textural-gestures. The composition intentionally retains a “tape-made” aesthetic, embracing raw editing to evoke the visceral intensity of war.

Les Gavroches

Les Gavroches is a three-minute, five-channel electroacoustic Soundscape composition based of field recordings that seamlessly intertwines the vibrant sounds of downtown Montreal with the passion of skateboarding. The composition is a sonic journey through the diverse environments of the city, capturing the essence of its streets, metro stations, and the lively spirit that defines its urban landscape. Thanks to the high quality of the recordings (96kHz-24bit) we were able to time stretch and micro edit some of the audio extracts while maintaining a good sound quality. Our aim was to establish thematic coherence, so we use pitch shifting and layering to create different harmonies and make the textures feel fuller and more complex.
